In celebration of
Greenebucs 20th birthday
as a chapter we are hosting the 2011 Mid States Regional Convention.
If you have not received any information, please check out the flyers
for each activity, including the Meet and Greet on Thursday, September
29th, the golf outing on Friday and the Big Hat Breakfast
on Saturday as well as the convention registration form. (Anyone
registered before September 21st will
be entered into a drawing for a $50. gift card.
In addition to
these events, as the registration form indicates, there will be an
opening birthday bash on Friday, a general session on Saturday after
the Big Hat Breakfast and the Vets ride, but before lunch and the
Tryke Rodeo for children. The final event will be the dinner and
Awards ceremony on Saturday evening. Check back later for the
actual agenda/ activity times.
Greenebucs is still
looking for people/ clubs to sponsor trykes for either Vets or
children. Please contact Linda Fischer Stine (lfischerstine@yahoo.com)
to sponsor a Vet or Kim at therapyconnections@sbcglobal.net to
sponsor a child.
Golfers (not only
AMBUCS golfers) can still sign up to join the fun. And finally
we would like to “line the street” waving flags when the Vets take
their first ride.
Hope to see many of
you at all or some of the events.

What We Do
The GreeneBucs Chapter of Ambucs is all about providing help and support for children with disabilities, while having a great time doing so.
You will find that our Members are a diverse group of people who have banded together for one common purpose and work tirelessly towards our common goals.
While our Chapter may not be the largest in membership, we have been able to provide a large number of AmTrykes, Ramps, and Scholarships throughout the history of our club.
As a point of pride for our chapter, GreeneBucs have been recognized as the number 2 chapter in the National Ambucs organization for the past nine years; but everyone of us will tell you that we are soon going to be number 1!.
In 2007, through dedication, determination, and with the immense help of our civic and corporate sponsors; we were able to provide over 200 AmTryke Therapeutic Tricycles throughout the state of Ohio, and we are not done yet!
While all of this is important, GreeneBucs’ never loose focus on what we are about, and that is providing whatever assistance we can to help a special needs child have a little more ‘normal’ life. As every one of us can attest to, there are few things more special than to see a child, who has maybe never taken a step on their own, be placed on an AmTryke, push those peddles and for the first time experience the freedom of mobility under their own power.
To many parents of those children, it is a dream that they never even hoped to dream, let alone see it come true, and can be a truly overwhelming experience. For the other children in the family, friends and neighbors, it is sometimes an eye-opening realization that their sister, brother, or friend is now going to be able to share in a bike ride around the block, and not have to be ‘left behind’.
For the child with special needs it can make a world of difference; providing the therapeutic exercise, the increase in self-determination and willpower to far exceed what they understood to be their physical boundaries.
That is what we do. If you would like to be a part of an organization with a single focus and dedication, that believes that every child deserves the best life possible, then we, the members of GreeneBucs, encourage you to join us. Please contact us, via this link, or by phone, email, or in person. We would love having you with us.
